Lost & Found

At the end of WWII, a small percentage of the produced VW-Schwimmwagens were left. Those which survived were in use in example by fire brigades, farmers, fishermen and hunters. The vehicle was often considered useful due to its off-road capabilities. However, when the economy improved the vehicles were often replaced by modern vehicles. The following gallery shows the condition vehicles were found in after the war. The Schwimmwagens were often modified to suit the owner's wishes. In example, it was often more practical to cut doors to allow easier entry into the vehicle. In case you have any interesting pictures to add we would very much appreciate receiving your pictures.
